Markets in the area
For the lovers of the authentic France, it is absolutely worthwhile visiting the local markets in and around Aubeterre.
Sunday mornings: situated on the square of Aubeterre, right in front of the
Hôtel de France is a small market offering local French products and souvenirs.
Monday mornings: 10 minutes from Aubeterre the town of Chalais has a large market with stalls throughout the streets of the center. The stalls are

varied, from delicious regional specialties, to clothing, jewellery and even small poultry.
Friday mornings: the market at Ribérac; one of the biggest in the area and only 20 minutes from Aubeterre. While you’re there, take a coffee break at “Café des Colonnes”; a very popular meeting spot for the locals and tourists.

Golf in the area
9-holes: just 10 minutes away from Aubeterre in the little village of Pillac, you will find the beautiful estate "Le Manoir de Longeveau. A country club managed by an English couple and offering many facilities, such as holiday cottages, a private pool, tennis courts, a restaurant and a 9-hole golf course where you can play every day.
18-holes: in the cities Angoulême and Périgueux, located at approximately 45 and 60 minutes drive from Aubeterre, you can go for professional 18-hole golf courses. Moreover, a stroll around these historic cities is a well spent pastime for the non-golfers.
